Blue Ridge Regional Hospital Connected to Other Hospitals Regionally

For several years, the 16 hospitals serving western North Carolina, including Blue Ridge Regional Hospital, have explored options to securely and efficiently exchange electronic patient information among the region’s health care providers.  The hospitals obtained $2.5 million in federal HRSA funds and $1 million from The Duke Endowment to develop the foundation for the exchange.

Construction Begins on Healing Garden at BRRH

Construction may be winding down on Blue Ridge Regional Hospital's new clinical wing, but work has just begun on a healing garden located outside the hospital's new main entrance.  "We wanted patients and their families to have a beautiful, serene place to enjoy because we know that having a loved one in the hospital can be a stressful time," said Pat Ross, chair of the Blue Ridge Regional Hospital Foundation.  The healing garden will include a brick patio and a landscaped garden with trees and benches.

Rotary Pledges Major Gift to Hospital

The Blue Ridge Regional Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce a $20,000 pledge from the Rotary Club of Spruce Pine to name the hospital’s Emergency Department lobby in the Phillips Care Center, the new clinical wing of the hospital.

Blue Ridge Regional Hospital Accreditated in Echocardiography

Blue Ridge Regional Hospital, Cardiology/Radiology was recently granted accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories. The laboratory is one of the first thousand echocardiography laboratories in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico to receive this recognition for commitment to high quality patient care and provision of quality diagnostic testing.
